This is one of my favorite cheap/great eats if visiting Independence. Breakfast and Lunch, everything is homemade, the pies are out of this world so it the Fried Chicken, Tenderloin Sandwich (huge). The staff is always friendly and efficient. This is a little hidden gem of a diner in a small strip mall right off downtown Englewood.

This place has the feel of a local diner and a regular spot for the neighborhood. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Everyone tried a burger and I'd have to say the consensus was that they were excellent. The portion size was good and everything tasted fresh. The French fries were extra, but everyone seemed to think they were worth it.
Overall, we thought the prices were reasonable and the food was wonderful! We also thought that most of the dishes we were seeing on other tables looked good, which always makes you want to come back for more! -

This is a gem of a place! Must go for breakfast AND LUNCH/DINNER. They have the BEST tenderloin sandwich in KC! Staff is amazing, clean and respectful place. Like walking into your mothers house for dinner.

If you're hungry for fresh, hot, honest American food, the Englewood is your culinary Heaven. Nothing to complain about. It's one one of those unpretentious cafes you'll find yourself using as a point of reference when you say, "We shoulda/coulda gone to the Englewood."
